Plus belle la vie: Why aren’t Johanna and Lucas at Roland’s funeral?

Warning, this article contains many spoilers for the next episodes of Plus belle la vie. If you don’t want to understand anything, don’t read!

This weekend promises to be a moving one for the characters of Plus belle la vie. On Monday, viewers witnessed the death of Roland (Michel Cordes), one of the characters of the daily series France 3. this Thursday night’s episode.

And if at first Thomas (Laurent Kerussoret) and Francois (Thierry Raguenot) were wondering about their father’s last wishes, thanks to Leo they discovered that Roland had bought the family cellar.

In tonight’s episode, all the relatives gather to pay their last respects to the owner of Mistral. If the Mars clan, as well as Blanche, Myrtle, Luna, Baptiste and many others, are in the graveyard, two main characters are missing. Johanna (Dunya Coessens) and Lucas (Jeffrey Sovo) clearly did not think it was appropriate to travel to attend their grandfather’s funeral.

If we can forgive Lucas, who now lives in the US, for not being able to cross the Atlantic to say goodbye to his grandfather, the absence of Johanna, who lives in France, is more difficult to understand.

An absence that’s all the more surprising since Dunya Cosens returned to the series in July during the Homecoming premiere. So I have to believe that the production didn’t think it was necessary to bring in less mobile people for this family reunion of the two actors.

On a question from fan @PBLV15ANS, Thierry Raguenot, who is in the Francois Mars camp, was also surprised by the absence. “These are the secrets of discussions between authors, actors, producers and France 3“, he would reply before addingWe don’t know what goes through their minds“.

However, fans will be pleased to know that Dounia Coesens and Geoffrey Sauveaux have already been announced for the latest prime of Plus belle la vie, which will air on Friday 18 November. And rumor has it that this return could be linked to their parents’ remarriage… Case in point.
