“Sundown” (Sundown), 2021
In the center of the plot is a wealthy family vacationing on Mexican beaches. Upon learning the tragic news, the heir to a wealthy family (Tim Roth) decides not to interrupt his vacation while his sister and nephews travel to London for their mother’s funeral. He moves into a cheap hotel on the beach and begins to socialize with the locals.
A favorite of festival reviews, Mexican Michel Franco returns with a new painting “Sunset”, which participated in the competition program of the Venice Film Festival. The main role in the film was written specifically for Tim Roth, with whom the director had already worked in 2015.
In Sunset, Tim Roth has few lines, he walks slowly and looks thoughtfully into the frame, but he gives it such meaning and depth that you are unlikely to remain indifferent after watching it.

“Lie to Me” (Lie to Me), 2009-2011
The series that brought Tim Roth worldwide fame. The actor plays Dr. Lightman, who (like House) thinks everyone is lying. A talented psychologist who spent several years in Africa to thoroughly study facial expressions and gestures of people, he heads his own consulting agency that provides services in the analysis of emotional states and behavioral patterns to individuals, companies and government agencies.
The series claims that the average person lies three times in ten minutes of conversation, and the scientist proves this in practice every episode. Roth has become so organically accustomed to the role of an intelligent, charming, but sometimes unbearable scientist that it seems that the actor in life is Dr. Lightman.

“Four Rooms” (Four Rooms), 1995
Four short stories about the sluggish bellboy Ted, shot by famous directors and becoming real classics. Tim Roth, Antonio Banderas, Quentin Tarantino, Bruce Willis and even Madonna – only the radio cast is worth watching this masterpiece.
According to the plot of the picture, the guests test the strength of an inexperienced porter (Tim Roth). He falls for a witches’ sabbath, almost dies at the hands of a jealous husband, barely walks away from the playful gangster kids and takes part in a strange bet of eccentric gentlemen, a real black comedy of the 1990s! The mouth here is funny, comical, absurd and ridiculous – but you will fall in love with this mischievous hero from the first frame.

“Legend of the pianist” (La leggenda del pianista sull’oceano), 1998
The famous musical drama by Giuseppe Tornatore tells the mysterious story of a boy who was found as a baby on a steamer in a box of lemons. He grew up and spent his life on a huge ocean liner that sailed between America and Europe, and he never went ashore, but he learned to play the piano virtuoso.
The boy was named Danny Boodman T. D. Lemon 1900 and began to entertain the sophisticated public by playing in a restaurant orchestra. Amazing stories are connected with him, and his life has turned into a beautiful legend.
According to many critics, the picture has significantly surpassed the book novel – Tim Roth’s incomparable game fascinates, and the music of the genius Ennio Morricone is remembered for a lifetime.

“The Hateful Eight”, 2015
The eighth film by Quentin Tarantino is a cruel, ironic and costume picture that brought together eight amazing characters in a barn.
The story takes place in the United States after the Civil War. One day, in the mountains of the Wild West, a legendary bounty hunter named the Hangman escorts a prisoner. Along the way, several more travelers are nailed to them, and as a result, eight people are saved from a snow storm in a trading shop that functions as an inn on the way to the town where this motley company is heading.
A bounty hunter, a woman strapped to him with a black eye, a Confederate general, a Mexican, a cowboy, a ceremonial Englishman working in the area as an executioner (Tim Roth) – they all begin to suspect each other of lies and a real mess begins, for which we and love Tarantino!
