It is one of the biggest hits of all time on Netflix. The Dahmer Series: Monster – The story of Jeffrey Dahmer returns to the “Milwaukee Cannibal” case. From 1978 to 1991, this man killed and dismembered 17 people. Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s adaptation of this crime story sparks curiosity and sparks heated debate.
Since its release, the series has received a lot of feedback, but also controversy, especially from the family of one of the victims. While a documentary on the same topic is coming to Netflix on October 7, the Spotlight show wanted to ask the question: Has the platform gone too far?
At the end of the talk, part of the AlloCiné team returns to the controversy and the need for such a series.
