On Friday, September 30, France 2 began airing Season 3 of Tropiques Criminals, one of its flagship police series hosted by Béatrice de la Boulay and Sonia Rolland, which follows a duo of investigators set in Martinique.
Melissa, a brilliant detective of Martinique origin and a single mother of two teenagers, finds herself the leader of a criminal group on an island where she has never set foot. Gayle, who has lived here since she was a child and knows the area by heart, is spontaneous, patient and independent, and is definitely not tongue-in-cheek.
If fans of the detective series are happy to find two new episodes of Criminal Tropics every Friday night, they will have to be patient until they discover this season 3 finale.
Indeed, after only one week of airing, France 2 decided to shake up its broadcast of the series. Starting this Friday night, the channel will definitely not offer more than one new episode every night before switching to reruns of previous seasons.
It’s a surprising decision when we know that when Season 3 began, Tropiques Criminals averaged 4.55 million viewers for a 24.6% market share. The figures that allowed the detective series to defeat TF1 and its witch, Dancing with the Stars.
Therefore, the 3rd season is similar to the previous seasons. Season 2, which will be broadcast in March 2021 on France 2, has already proven that Tropiques Criminals is a series to rely on, as 4.27 million viewers tuned in to Melissa and Gael’s new adventure on the night of its first broadcast.
Find an unaired episode of Tropiques Criminals this Friday from 9.10pm on France 2. For the most impatient, season 3 is now fully available on the Salto platform.
