The sequel to Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, Broly, released in 2019, has finally hit the French darkrooms! To celebrate, here’s a quiz to test your knowledge of the Dragon Ball Super series. Can you handle the challenge?
Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is the second feature film in the Dragon Ball Super series, itself the third installment in the entire animated saga after Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z.
As with all films produced so far, this new opus does not need to be seen before. The story features recurring characters in an original adventure independent of the main plot.
This feature film follows Dragon Ball Super: Broly, released in 2019, which was a huge commercial success grossing $115 million (on a budget of $8 million).
Note that Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is the first film in the saga to be entirely rendered in computer graphics. A choice that angered some fans, as well as a change in the appearance of the main characters and especially the ultra-popular Vegeta!
Director Tetsuro Kodama replied: “We come from the Dragon Ball generation, and the fan community has steadily grown to become the phenomenon we know. We’re on a mission to break down barriers, but also attract new fans.”
This is Kodama’s first experience as the main director of a Dragon Ball feature film. He previously worked on the series Ganbare! Lulu Lolo – Tiny Twin Bears and Gen’ei ibunroku #FE video game. On the other hand, the script is always signed by Akira Toriyama, the creator of the manga.
