Supernatural: Smallville actor stars in prequel The Winchesters

While the Winchester family will soon be returning to the CW, production on the Supernatural spin-off took advantage of Comic Con held in New York this weekend to announce a new name for the cast of The Winchesters.

Tom Welling, best known for his role as Clark Kent / Superman on Smallville, will definitely return to television in a recurring role as Samuel Campbell, father of Mary Campbell and grandfather of Sam and Dean, played by Mitch Pileggi on Supernatural. For the occasion, the actor will find Jensen Ackles, executive producer of The Winchesters, whom he has already answered in the superhero series.

“Samuel taught Mary everything he knows. Grumpy and pragmatic, he is a skilled hunter who prefers words to actions.“, we can read in the official description of the character.But when Samuel joins Mary and her friends to save the world, he must not only defeat the most dangerous monster he has ever faced, but also mend his broken relationship with his daughter.Tom Welling makes his debut in episode 7.

The Winchesters airing Tuesday, October 11 on the CW, focuses on the youth of Mary and John Winchester, parents of Dean and Sam, and is set to tell the beginning of their love story. A story told from the perspective of their eldest son, Dean, Jensen Ackles is the narrator of the series. Meg Donnelly (American Housewife) and Drake Rodger (The In Between) reprise roles previously played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Samantha Smith on Supernatural.

During the panel, Robbie Thompson, writer and showrunner of The Winchesters, hinted that Supernatural fans can see “Some very familiar facesIn one of the episodes of the first season.We also have plans to bring back not only some familiar faces, but also younger versions of characters we may not have seen yet.“

At the moment, no French channel has acquired the rights to broadcast The Winchesters.
