Conflicts, provocations and errors marked the eighth episode of “La casa del drago”, released last Sunday (9). Despite still being in season one, the series has laid the groundwork for future sequels and battles that will still unfold in history – and one of them is considered to be the most epic in Westeros history.
In the episode, we have a dinner at House Targaryen hosted by King Viserys, who wanted to end the family’s internal fractures. However, the fighting continues and at some point, Aemond Targaryen and Daemon Targaryen face off and many think a duel could take place. However, nothing happened between the two.
However, years later, this scene will be different. Subsequently, in the midst of the conflicts of the Targaryen civil war, the Dance of Dragons will unleash, a mad confrontation between Daemon and Aemond that will be the culmination of the rivalry between the two characters.
The showdown will be called “Battle over the Gods Eye” and will take place in Harrenhall. In this battle, Aemond will ride Vhagar, the largest and oldest Targaryen dragon, while Daemon will ride Caraxes, a long red dragon.
“Their roars echoed through the Eye of God as the two fought and tore at each other. The flames were so bright that the fishermen below feared that the clouds themselves would catch fire, “wrote George RR Martin, creator of the” Game of Thrones “universe, of the battle between nephew and uncle.

To prepare for conflict, Aemond decides to chain himself to his saddle, something that would ultimately lead to his death, after Daemon leapt from Caraxes and plunged a steel sword of Valyria into his nephew’s blind eye. With his skull pierced by the artifact, Aemond is killed by his uncle.
After that, both Vhagar and Caraxes end up dying after the epic battle. The corpse of the first dragon is found, some time later, along with the skeleton of Aemond, who still had the sword in his eye. Meanwhile, Daemon’s body has never been found and some theories suggest that he may have escaped with a lover to other lands.
The battle between uncle and nephew should only appear in the next few seasons of “House of the Dragon”, which is still laying the groundwork for the Dance of the Dragons. The “Game of Thrones” spinoff has episodes released on Sundays on HBO and HBO Max and the final chapter arrives on October 23rd.
