Last August, we shared this exciting tidbit: Keanu Reeves has just signed on to star in his first major TV series. Titled The Devil in White City and adapted from Erik Larson’s novel, narrated by H.H. The story of Holmes, who is considered one of the first American serial killers. After two months we will know variety that the actor recently broke up with…
He should have camped with Daniel H. Burnham, a visionary architect who participated in the 1893 World’s Fair, not far from where Holmes built his famous prison where he tortured his victims. It took eight months of negotiations to apparently convince Reeves to join the Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese-produced series.
It’s currently unclear why Reeves will no longer be involved with the project, which was slated for production in 2023 for a 2024 launch on Hulu. Knowing that no other name for the devil has been announced in White City, the two producers must find who will play the serial killer Holmes and who will replace Reeves.
Hoping this is the last bit of bad news for this ambitious project DiCaprio has been working on since 2010…or is this the beginning of a curse?
