Just 15 days after the death of Benedict Ashar, one of the creators of Plus belle la vie, France 3’s daily series continues to mourn. Francois Charlain, producer of the series for 6 years, died on October 12. Friday night’s episode paid him a final tribute.
François Charlain began his career in the audiovisual sector in 1981 when he became an assistant director on the TV series The Almond Doctors, before working on Alexandre Arcadi’s Last Summer in Tangier (1987) and Roger Hanni’s La Rumba (1987).
He then joined production at Le Saber. In 1995, he created his production company Rendez-vous Production, which is still active today. Thus, François Charlain created many television films and series such as L’épervier, La loi après Bartoli and Never 2 sans 3.
From 2009 to 2016, he co-produced Plus belle la vie, a daily soap opera that was a hit on France 3 for over 18 years. It’s a new hit for the series, which will be released on November 18th during a special bonus episode that will see the return of many iconic characters.
