The mythical character is back from the original series. It is a seer (The Seer, in the original version), a mystical-gifted reader who interacts with the Scandinavian gods and who connects them and humans. Lonely in the woods, the viewer is often approached by the inhabitants of the category, who are trying to learn more about their fate.

But he always takes care not to say everything he sees, so as not to upset the future, though without missing the cruel truth. Its origins are very obscure and unknown to the Vikings, which does not prevent it from honoring this precious oracle.

Despite his often vague prophecies that leave room for interpretation by his listeners, many legendary Vikings called him Ragnar, Rolo, Lagerta, Aslaug, Ivar, Jarl Haraldson, or Jarl Borg.

As far back as the dead years ago, the seer appeared in Valhalla and contacted Freud Eriksdotter and Jarl Carey (Asbjorn Krog Nisen) to discuss their fate. The same visitor? Yes! And he is portrayed by the original actor, John Cavanaugh, who once again put on his divination hat for this new project.

How did the seer survive?

In the Viking season 5, Ivar the Elder visited the viewer to find out if he really was a God according to prophecy. But the reader rejected this hypothesis when he told Ragnar’s son what fate awaited him. Did not like the visitor’s response, Ivar he just killed.

But Seer still appeared in the sixth and final season to warn Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith) to leave the green earth, which already meant readers weren’t really dead. His mystical abilities allow him to wander between life and death, between gods and humans, and appear in Viking visions and dreams.

That’s why he is the only character from the original series who can still appear as the Vikings: in Valhalla, beyond the flashbacks.
