He forms a legendary duo with the young Marty McFly. How well do you know the eccentric Dr. Back in the Future?
These are the moving reunions we were able to witness last October 9 during the Comic-Con held in New York. Indeed, Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) and the Doctor (Christopher Lloyd) met at a conference 37 years after the release of the first part of the Back to the Future trilogy.
An opportunity for the two actors to get emotional about the filming of that time, but also for Michael Fox to thank the public for their support due to the Parkinson’s disease, which the actor has been suffering from for several years.
If Christopher Lloyd remains today and probably forever associated with this character of the mad scientist, it was not at all his first role in the cinema. The actor has already appeared in a dozen feature films, including his first appearance with Jack Nicholson in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, in which he played Taber, one of the residents of an asylum run by the terrifying Miss Ratched.
After returning to the future, Christopher Lloyd will have the opportunity to portray some of the most iconic characters in pop culture again. He’ll be back in director Robert Zemeckis’ Who Framed Roger Rabbit, playing the terrifying Judge DeMorthy, determined to eliminate all Toons.
Three years later, we find him playing Uncle Fetid in Barry Sonnenfeld’s feature film The Addams Family. If Christopher Lloyd continued to tour regularly in the decades to come, he would not encounter such powerful characters again. We’ll still have the pleasure of finding him for a double episode on Malcolm as Hal’s somewhat intrusive father.
Step back into the iconic role of the Doctor with this nine-question quiz. Can you turn back time to perfect your memories?
