The interpreter of Indiana Jones and Han Solo adds another role within the Disney company: General Ross.
The new news indicates that Harrison Ford will make his Marvel debut in the movie ‘Captain America: New World Order’. One of the oldest characters in Marvel Studios’ ever-growing universe had been on hiatus since William Hurt passed away in March 2022. Hurt, who had been playing General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross since ‘The Incredible Hulk ‘, made his last Marvel appearance in ‘Black Widow’, released in 2021.
At the end of September 2022, rumors began to emerge on networks that the Star Wars actor had been chosen to join the MCU., specifically to replace Hurt as the new Ross. Supposedly, the upcoming ‘Thunderbolts’ movie would include Ford’s Ross, as the character is a crucial member of the team in the comics. At the time of the report, Ford was said to be Marvel Studios’ “best choice” to appear in ‘Thunderbolts’ as the character. The rumor came just a few weeks after Marvel Studios announced the names of the ‘Thunderbolts’ at the D23 Expo.
Shortly after the signing of the actor was confirmed, who turned 80 last July and will premiere the fifth installment of ‘Indiana Jones 5’ in June of next year. With this transfer, Harrison Ford would have another role within the Disney company. The one who was also the protagonist of ‘Blade Runner’, has his work as Indiana Jones, owned by Disney Pictures, and with his role as the incomparable Han Solo in the Star Wars saga, another of Disney’s properties.
At the moment little is known about the movie ‘Captain America 4’. Throughout 2023, filming will begin and the premiere is expected to be on May 1, 2024. However, the character of Ross is very popular, since there is a lot of talk about how his involvement will be in the events that the Hulk and Captain America will go through.
So what role will Thunderbolt Ross take? Ross becomes the ‘Red Hulk’ in the pages of Marvel Comics. However, we will have to wait for official news from Marvel Studios.
