This is a horror movie that makes the audience vomit

The horror film “Terrifier 2” in American cinemas has caused heart palpitations several times and made many viewers vomit, but the film is gaining more and more popularity. A kind of ritual for fans of the genre.

Attention, images in the trailer may offend the sensibilities of the viewer.

Out in US theaters on October 6, the horror film Terrifier 2 is in the top 10 at the US box office and has grossed $2.5 million to date in North America on a budget of just $250,000 and an almost non-existent marketing campaign.

A sequel to 2016’s Terrifier, which was released anonymously, Damien Leone’s feature film is a surprise success for the exhibitor and the director.

In the first film, two women cross paths with Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton), a sadistic killer on Halloween night. In this sequel, Art is resurrected by an evil entity. Back in small town Miles County, he targets a teenage girl and her younger brother on Halloween night.

So far nothing surprising… but several American theaters report that many viewers leave the room mid-show or… vomit in the middle of the movie.

Advertisements repeated in the media, far from repulsing the audience, clearly motivate them to try the experience in turn.

A ritual for fans of the genre

Photos of moviegoers receiving medical attention outside a screening of Terrifier 2 have gone viral on social media, turning the bloody film into an endurance test for horror fans.

“#Terrifier2 My friend passed out and the theater had to call an ambulance. Highly recommended.”

“I just saw Terrifier 2. It was an amazing gore movie. A guy walked up behind me and crashed into my chair. Another guy left because he wasn’t feeling well, and as I was leaving the movie, I heard a guy pass out. Toilet.”

“If you decide to continue: you have been warned”

Performances that amaze the director himself. he asked Entertainment WeeklyDamien Leone says: “Look, I wish I had a few starts, but not more. I think it’s kind of a badge of honor for fans of the genre. It’s an intense movie. I don’t want people to pass out or hurt themselves during the movie. It’s surreal..”

The director then reminds us that Terrifier 2 is a sequel and that viewers should have watched the first film at home to know what to expect.

You should probably see it scare me Before you jump into this. If you’ve seen the first one, you know what you’re getting into.

The first part has the now famous murder scene that everyone is talking about. We tried to compete with this scene (..)

I think this movie is more accessible, but we basically continue to make these movies for the big movie fans. If other people want to come on board, so much the better.”

In turn, the producer Steve Burton states that it has added a warning about feature film content before screening.

He warns on his Twitter:This movie contains violent, explicit and brutal scenes. Spectators with weak hearts or stomachs or prone to fatigue are advised to exercise special caution. There have already been a number of cases of fainting and vomiting in cinemas. To those who choose to continue regardless: you have been warned.”

Given the film’s exponential success in theaters, the producer adds that the streaming release has been delayed to give priority to theaters.

No release date has been announced in France.
