“The Walking Dead” actor in a famous scene: “I didn’t know who I was killing”

Actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan commented on a famous scene that included the end of the sixth season and the beginning of the seventh of the post-apocalyptic series “The Walking Dead”.

In a short video of an interview with Jeffrey Dean Morgan, published by Entertainment Weekly, the actor revealed that he did not even know who Negan, his character in “The Walking Dead”, was killed in the show’s sixth season finale.

The scene in question is full of mystery, after Negan, the leader of a group called The Saviors and main antagonist of the series (apart from the zombies, of course), surrenders to the group led by Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln).

There, he ends up killing one of the members of the group of zombie apocalypse survivors, which we follow throughout the series. However, the scene is viewed from the victim’s point of view and it is not possible to establish who exactly killed Negan.

It turns out Jeffrey Dean Morgan has now revealed that he didn’t even know who killed his character. This is because alternate scenes were shot, given the number of information leaks that were happening in the AMC series at the time.

“We filmed alternate parts of me killing everyone in a row,” Morgan said. “Because then there was a super paranoia about what was going on with the leaked series.”

“And for a long time, I didn’t know who I was actually killing,” revealed the actor, who, like the audience, was also left in the dark about the identity of his character’s victim. “Why not [episódio] 16 [da sexta temporada], you don’t know who I killed. Early in Season 7, we found out from Jeffrey Dean Morgan that the character he killed on the show was Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz). But in the sequel, in addition to the more secondary character, Negan ended up taking the life of Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun), one of the protagonists of the series.

“The Walking Dead” is a post-apocalyptic series from American broadcaster AMC and its latest season is currently on show and can be seen in Brazil by Star +, which has all seasons in its catalog.
