The movie “O Enfermeiro da Noite” was the most watched movie on Netflix in Brazil and the world in the last week of October, and still occupies a high position in the streaming Top 10. Now, Netflix will release a documentary on the real case the production is based on.
The suspenseful drama that follows a couple of nurses is one of the blockbuster movies on Netflix. In addition to the good audience performance (more than 68 million hours seen in the first week of the show), the film has good ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, with 78% approval from both critics and audiences.
One of the film’s highlights is the performance of Oscar-winning protagonists Eddie Redmayne and Jessica Chastain. But the story of that night nurse is also quite fascinating, especially when we know it’s a film based on a true story.
Netflix is increasingly using the genre of true crime to attract audiences. Building on the success of “Dahmer: An American Cannibal”, one of the most followed series in streaming history, another real-life detective adaptation, “The Night Nurse” has arrived.
And, following the same recipe as “Dahmer,” in which streaming released the documentary “Conversation with a Serial Killer: The Milwaukee Cannibal” shortly after, Netflix is now releasing the documentary “In Search of the Night Nurse.” “”.
Like the film “Night Nurse”, the documentary is based on Charles Graeber’s bestseller “The Good Nurse”. The production is directed by Tim Travers Hawkins, director with an Emmy nomination on his resume for “XY Chelsea”. The production uses audio from Cullen himself and interviews with people close to the case, such as Amy Loughren herself (pictured above), as well as the investigators involved, the author of the book and relatives of the victims.
The documentary “In Search of the Night Nurse” will premiere on Netflix on Friday 11 November.
