Netflix confirms that we will have season 2 and season 3 of ‘Monster’, the Ryan Murphy series that has told us the story of Jeffrey Dahmer.
‘Monster’: The (real) history of Jeffrey Dahmer has been the television surprise of the year, becoming one of the most watched series on Netflix and bringing back the macabre phenomenon of the audience’s fascination with serial killers.
The series created by Ryan Murphy, currently the king of Netflix thanks also to other Netflix movies and series such as ‘Mr. Harrigan’s Phone’ and ‘Vigilante’, focused its first season on the crimes of Jeffrey Dahmer from the point of view of view of the victims, not the killer, with a hypnotic Evan Peters in the title role.
Thanks to ‘Monster’ and its repercussion on networks, we discovered a few curiosities about Jeffrey Dahmer that perhaps you did not know and we were able to compare the great similarity between the cast and the real protagonists of the Milwaukee Butcher murders by checking who is who in ‘Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story’.
Due to the great success, Netflix has confirmed that ‘Monster will have (at least) two more seasons, and that ‘Vigilante’ will also return for a second season.
In an official statement, Netflix’s Global TV Director, Bela Bajaria, celebrated the success of both series and praised the work of the series’ creators: “Audiences cannot take their eyes off ‘Monster’ and ‘Vigilante’. The creative team of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan on ‘Monster’ along with Eric Newman on ‘Vigilante’ are masterful storytellers who captivated audiences around the world. The consecutive strength of these two series is due to Ryan’s distinctive original voice that created cultural sensations and we are delighted to continue telling their stories.”
The two new installments will each focus on “other monstrous figures that have impacted society”as Netflix has stated, without confirming who will be the dark protagonists of both.
