CCXP 2022, this year’s edition of the major pop culture festival, will take place in São Paulo between 1 and 4 December. But what are the main attractions confirmed at the event?
The event, which will take place at the São Paulo Expo, is expected to receive more than 300,000 visitors. According to data presented by the festival, CCXP has already received over 1 million visitors in six editions of the event, 200 film and TV artists, as well as more than 1.7 thousand cartoonists and illustrators.
The last CCXP in presence took place in 2019 and the number of visitors has grown every year since the first edition, in 2014, as has the size of the event. The first face-to-face edition after two virtual years promises to be the largest yet.
Among the biggest names in cinema and TV confirmed at the event, we have the actor Keanu Reeves, who will be present at CCXP 2022 in the Paris Filmes panel to promote his new film, “John Wick 4: Baba Yaga”, which won a new trailer this week.
In addition to Reeves, John Rhys-Davies, the dwarf Gimli from Peter Jackson’s ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy, confirmed his participation this Friday (11), and will participate in a panel and signing sessions. Alexander Ludwig, Bjorn from “Vikings” will also be present at CCXP 2022.
And speaking of the panels, which take place on the famous Palco Thunder, CCXP will open the space for many of them. In addition to the Paris Filmes panel, already mentioned, there will be a panel with the awardee of the year, Fernando Meirelles, the screening of the film “Mundo Estranho” with the presence of director Don Hall, and the presentations of Prime Video, Netflix, Sony Pictures, Paramount Pictures, among others.
It will also be possible to visit booths such as Prime Video, Netflix, Funko, Sony Pictures, Paramount Pictures and Maurício de Sousa Produções, not to mention the traditional Cosplay Contest, described as “the largest cosplayer battle in the country”.
Among the attractions of the event is the Vicolo degli Artisti which, as described on the CCXP official website, is “inspired by the idea of this place where fans, artists and the biggest sacred monsters of comics meet to celebrate the their passion for stories ”. There are hundreds of artists confirmed at the event, with big names in illustration and comics.
