Tenoch Huerta’s performance as Namor made fans of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” fall in love because he was a “sexy villain” with understandable motivations and represented Mesoamerican cultures in a great way.
Namor is a mutant and the leader of the Talokan underwater nation. He has Hulk-like strength, the power to both breathe underwater and the ability to fly, making him the greatest threat Wakanda has ever faced.
Although his origin is changed from Atlantis to part of a Mayan civilization washed into the sea by the Spanish conquistadors, the character’s essence and personality remain intact.
But since Namor was one of the first Marvel superheroes in history, before his debut in the MCU, he already had small references and even a movie in a “Spider-Man” movie.
- Tenoch Huerta is also involved “Live for me”, which you can see on ViX+, ViX’s premium streaming service.
Namor had already appeared on film in ‘Spider-Man’, this was his cameo
Easter eggs and references to Namor can be traced to the MCU from “Iron Man 2” (2010), with a digital map behind Tony Stark showing points of interest such as Wakanda and another in the middle of the ocean.
