The “Fantastic Beasts” movies starring the characters Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) and Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) are full of references or easter eggs to “Harry Potter”, which are prequels.
Fans have developed countless theories surrounding the “Fantastic Beasts” saga that attempt to connect the two sagas, such as Queenie being Severus Snape’s grandmother or that there could be two Professor McGonagalls.
However, the reality is that being released first and based solely on JKRowling’s books, the eight ‘Harry Potter’ films have few or no ‘Fantastic Beasts’ connections or share only a few characters.
Or at least that’s what they thought until now, as a hidden detail reveals that Newt Scamander appeared in ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’ and hardly anyone noticed his appearance.

The “Harry Potter” detail connected to “Fantastic Beasts” that no one had noticed
In the same way that an actor from “Harry Potter” played 4 characters in the saga and few noticed, so the detail in the original saga is hidden and that it is connected to “Fantastic Beasts”.
It all happens in “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” when the twins Fred and George Weasley teach Harry how to use the Marauder’s Map, and on it you can see the name of the wizard who walks around Hogwarts.
The map is a sort of parchment that magically shows everyone’s location within the Hogwarts castle and even shows their movements with shoe prints.

Some fans theorize that as Hagrid’s hippogriff named Buckbeak was about to be executed, the news reached Newt’s ears and the animal expert went to the school to prevent his death.

Anyway, this confirms that for the events of the ‘Harry Potter’ movies Newt Scamander is about 97 years old and still alive, but being retired and living in Dorset he doesn’t know Harry and his friends. Even on his visit to Hogwarts he doesn’t see them.
