Spider-Man: The animated film Across the Spider-Verse will not be released in 2022

To explore the multi-world in the movie at the Superhero Company this year, you will need to switch to Dr. Strange 2 on May 4th. That’s all it is. Because Sony has postponed the eight-month anticipation of the release of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which was originally expected on October 6 in our cinemas and is now scheduled for early June 2023.

An announcement that will surely disappoint fans of the first opus released in 2018 and the Oscar winner the following year, who managed to grasp the essence of Spider-Man and move it into a story with a new and bold graphic style. Especially since this sequel promised to go even further, with more parallel realities and a different visual identity for each.

So it will take patience on the big screen to find Miles Morales. And the latter will then return at the end of March 2024, with the second part of Across the Spider-Verse, which therefore promises to be particularly epic. But there will be at least one more Marvel movie between these two, the date of which Sony has announced: Madame Webb.

Directed by SJ Clarkson, the live-action feature film is expected to hit the United States on July 7, 2023 and will be directed by Dakota Johnson. The actress, revealed by Fifty Shades of Gray, played the role of Cassandra Webb, a blind and paralyzed woman but endowed with extraordinary abilities such as telepathy or even clairvoyance. Sitting on a spider-like throne that keeps him alive, he becomes the spider-man mentor.

If the latter exists, then Madame Webb must be part of the saga that already unites Morbius and the two Venoms, and where the spider shines in its absence. But things can still change when the film has not yet been shot and there are only two actors in it: Dakota Johnson and Sidney Sweeney.

There will also be Cassia’s translator in euphoria, but her role has not yet been revealed. And you should not expect him to say more at the CANNESERIES festival, where he received Madame Figaro’s Rising Star Award in April. As the new generation of Spider-Man continues, we will have to be patient.
