There are so many controversial storylines in Marvel comics that even The Boys series wouldn’t dare parody those House of Ideas superhero moments.
From domestic violence, sexual abuse, and even incest, Marvel comics can tell controversial stories that it’s pretty safe to believe will never appear in the MCU movies or series. Here are some of those scenes.
Scarlet Witch has a relationship with her brother
In the MCU, Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) met two versions of her brother Pietro/Quicksilver, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Evan Peters in “WandaVision” as a reference to his same role in the “X-” saga . Fox menu.
But as weird as the MCU’s portrayal of Pietro has been, it hasn’t reached the extremes of the comics, where the mutant twins and Magneto’s sons have relationships while Wolverine spies on them from some bushes.

In a controversial scene in the old Marvel comics, the character Hank Pym was Yellowjacket and argues with his wife Janet Van Dyne, but not only verbally abuses her, but ends up hitting her to shut her up.
The story takes place in ‘Avengers #213’ from 1981 and luckily in the MCU the relationship between Hank (Michael Douglas) and Janet (Michelle Pfeiffer) has proven to be up and down, but never violent or abusive.

“Spider-Man: No Way Home” (2021) epically brought together the three Spider-Mans of cinema, and although some see it as one of the most overrated superhero movies, it sticks to the essence of the comics and the characters.
Unlike the 2004 comic book story “The Amazing Spider-Man: Sins Past”, where it is revealed that Peter Parker’s late girlfriend Gwen Stacy cheated on him with his nemesis Norman Osborn and even fathered twins with him.
Spider-Man gave Mary Jane cancer because it was familiar
Another controversial story from the Spider-Man comics is in a plot in the future where Mary Jane Watson died of cancer. However, it is revealed that the culprit behind her illness was Peter Parker.
What was said in “Spider-Man Reign” says that since Peter was bitten by a radioactive spider, his blood, and apparently all fluids in his body, carry some radiation, so when he was having sex with MJ, poison a little to a little.
Captain Marvel is abused by his own son
In one of the most confusing and controversial storylines in Marvel comics, in 1980’s ‘Avengers #200’ Carol Danvers (who was Ms. Marvel at the time) encountered a variant of Kang called Immortus and his son.
The son of evil got himself trapped in limbo and took Carol with him and changed her emotions to have a child with him. After the rape, Carol loses her memory of the events and gives birth to a boy named Marcus.
Marcus grows up quickly and it is discovered that Immortus’ son is indeed Marcus himself, so the villain manipulated things to imbue Carol with himself.
