Corinthians beat Red Bull Bragantino away from home this Saturday, with minimum points, and are still alive in the women’s Paulista league. The match, valid for the 10th round of the competition, was played at the Nabi Abi Chedid Stadium.
The only goal of the match came 17′ into the second half. After the ball rebounded, Jaqueline received a pass and, from the right, crossed towards the small area. Vic Albuquerque positioned herself well and, alone, practically under the crossbar, just pushed into the back of the net.
With the result, the Brabas sleep in 5th position and add up to 21 points: they are one from G4. The Bragança Paulista team, which has 24 points, remains in the vice-leadership of the state tournament, but does not have a guaranteed place in the knockout stage.
Women’s Corinthians returns to the grass on Wednesday at 19:00 (Brasilia time) when they face Taubaté at Parque São Jorge. The Arthur Elias-led team are looking for a last-round victory to secure a place in the Paulistão semi-finals.
