Best in the world, Benzema is excluded from the Cup by France

The striker will not be replaced in the French national team

The best player in the world in the 2021/22 season, Frenchman Karim Benzema, was cut from France’s World Cup squad on Saturday night (19).

The striker injured his quadriceps in the team’s first training session in Qatar and will not recover in time.

“In my life I never give up, but tonight I have to think about the team, as I always have. Therefore, reason tells me to leave my post for someone who can help the team make a great World Cup. Thanks for all the messages supportive,” wrote Benzema on his Instagram account.

In an interview this Sunday (20), the coach Didier Deschamps reported that he will not call anyone to replace the star who plays for Real Madrid.

France have already lost a number of important players for the World Cup in Qatar, which starts this Sunday, such as Paul Pogba, N’Golo Kanté, Mike Maignan, Presnel Kimpembe and Christopher Nkunku. 🇧🇷
