Jason David Frank, the original green Power Ranger, dies

Actor and MMA fighter Jason David Frank has died at the age of 49. He is best known for his role as Tommy Oliver in the Power Rangers series, having been the original Green Ranger in the 90s.

Born on September 4, 1973, the actor played Tommy in ‘Power Rangers’ starting in 1993. Initially, he was the green ranger; then he became the white ranger. He has continued his role as Tommy for many Power Rangers spin-off series, including ‘Zeo’, ‘Turbo’, ‘Wild Force’, ‘Dino Thunder’, ‘Megaforce’ and ‘Hyperforce’.

His most recent appearance in ‘Power Rangers’ was in a cameo during the ‘Ninja Steel’ series. He also played Tommy in the reboot film of the series released in 2017. In addition to his acting career, Jason David Frank has also been an MMA fighter, having joined the UFC in 2010.

The actor left behind one final work that will be released in 2023: a film titled ‘Legend of the White Dragon’, which was funded by a Kickstarter campaign launched in 2020.
