“Yellowstone”: the new season breaks ratings records

The TV series ‘Yellowstone’, now in its fifth season, continues to break ratings records and debuted its highest ratings to date in the modern western starring Kevin Costner.

The ratings make “Yellowstone” the biggest scripted debut series of 2022, according to Samba TV. The series has also climbed into double digits across all demographics, including a 52% growth among adults aged between 18 to 34 years old and a cumulative score of 5.6 among adults aged 18 to 49 years. years.

In all, “Yellowstone” garnered 8.8 million viewers in its first showing on the Paramount Network (a 10% increase from season four). That number grew to 10.3 million viewers by adding simulcasts on CMT, TV Land and Pop. Then the number jumped to 12.1 million when you add the Encore streams.

The Season 5 premiere of ‘Yellowstone’ was accompanied by the launch of another Taylor Sheridan series, ‘Tulsa King’ starring Sylvester Stallone, which premiered on the Paramount+ streaming network.

The drama series follows the Dutton family as they fight to protect Montana’s largest ranch from outside forces. The series has been a ratings phenomenon for the Paramount Network, drawing viewers into the cable niche despite the lack of an initial streaming presence on its sister platform, Paramount+.

The two-episode premiere saw the inauguration of John Dutton (Costner) as governor of Montana, with daughter Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) promoted to chief of staff and son Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley) sidelined. his political ambitions and aligned himself. with her father and sister, with the latter blackmailing Jamie about her fateful choice from the season four finale. The first four seasons of “Yellowstone” are available in Brazil via Paramount+. The new season debuts in streaming on December 11th.
