The instant payment system adds up to 26 billion transactions since its inception

The payment and money transfer tool was launched two years ago and surpassed the methods of credit and debit cards for the first time in the fourth quarter of 2021.
Also according to the Central Bank, Pix was primarily responsible for the 40% annual growth in the total number of transactions made last year. As a result, mobile phones have become the primary means of purchasing, accounting for 60% of all payments made in the last year, except for cash.
Financial institutions across the country have felt this difference. Banco Master, for example, has Pix as the most used payment model in its app. “The ease of Pix makes Brazilians prefer to make payments this way. In addition to being fast, it brings reliability,” commented Daniel Vorcaro, president of the bank.
In September of this year, when Pix turned exactly two years old, it reached the R$ trillion mark traded in just one month.
