Martin Scorsese The Film Foundation has opened The Film Foundation Restoration Screening Room, which will house free films with the Foundation’s help.
Feature film screenings debut on the second Monday of each month, with screenings starting at the scheduled time and then available in a 24-hour window. The show will feature presentations, interviews with curators, behind-the-scenes discussions about the recovery process, and an appearance from A’s fans. The statement described the series as an “observation meeting.”
The first program in the series: a 1945 novel. I know where I’m going! – Scheduled for May 9. It will feature Scorsese and include interviews with film fans Thelma Schoonmaker Powell, Joanna Hogg, Tilda Swinton and Kevin Macdonald. Funding for the restoration of the film, which premiered at Cannes Classics, was further supported by the Hobson/Lucas Family Foundation.
“We hope these beautiful restorations will be available to a wider audience,” said Scorsese. “Many of these submissions will be rarely seen restorations. Other directors and I share why these films are important, how they’ve impacted our lives, and why sustaining them is crucial.”
The next films are from Federico Fellini the roadG. Aravidnani kumatiEdgar G Ulmer Bypass and Arthur Ripley Chase and the duo of John Houston present Noah. Moulin Rouge, Among the rest of titles whose revelation is more. Scorsese oversees the showroom with Kent Jones.
Film Fund is partnering with Oracle and DelphiQuest on a platform that will house a screening room that will be available online.
