Chupo-Moting is the reference of the Cameroon national team in attack and is in great phase at Bayern Munich
Brazil’s next opponent in the last round of the group stage of the Cup, Cameroon has Choupo-Moting as a highlight. The forward, who now defends for Bayern Munich, was Neymar’s team-mate at Paris Saint-Germain and has already scored a historic goal for the club in the Champions League.
Choupo-Moting was born in Germany, but became a naturalized Cameroonian. Thus, he started his career in German football and went through an English club, Stoke City, before arriving at PSG in 2018.
In German football, Choupo-Moting started professionally with Hamburg in 2007 and caught the end of a generation of team stars. The squad included defenders Kompany, Boateng and Mathijsen, midfielders Jarolim, De Jong and Van der Vaart, as well as Peruvian striker Paolo Guerrero.
The forward has gained exposure for his time at PSG. He arrived in 2018, but didn’t have much space due to the stars of the squad such as Cavani, Neymar, Mbappé, Icardi and others.
Choupo-Moting has had two highlights with the Parisian club’s shirt. The first for missing “the most beautiful goal in history” in the match against Strasbourg. The second, now positive, was the goal in the final minutes against Atalanta which gave us the unprecedented qualification for the 2020 Champions League semi-finals.

A season later, he joined Bayern Munich and, once again, was out of the starting lineup due to Lewandowski’s role. He was a reserve for a good period but, with the farewell of the Pole this year, the Cameroonian gained space and came to the fore. This season he already has 11 goals and three assists in 16 games.
Choupo-Moting’s great moment gives the Cameroon national team hope for the striker. The player has scored Draw 3-3 with Serbia and he dreams of scoring again this Friday, against Brazil, to try to qualify for the round of 16.
