Huawei Watch Kids 5X has two screens and a detachable module

The new Huawei watch has a color and monochrome screen, and also comes with a built-in camera for video calls

THE Huawei has updated its line of smart watches with the new Watch Kids 5X model. As the name suggests, the product is aimed at children, and has peculiar construction characteristics.

According to publicity materials released by the brand, the watch has a design philosophy that aims to offer “protection and safety on more than one side.” After all, Watch Kids 5X has a detachable core module, which carries two different screens.

The primary display is the only one that offers a color panel, while the secondary display features monochrome LCD technology. The exchange of each display takes place manually, using the stops positioned on the sides.

The smartwatch is also equipped with a built-in camera for video calls or other similar content. Plus, the bracelet is constructed securely so it won’t fall off your little one’s wrist.

The new generation of the watch comes to replace the Watch Kids 4 Pro, a product presented by Huawei last year, also with an integrated camera.

The new model is likely to come with support for connectivity via 4G mobile networks, in addition to traditional Bluetooth pairing. GPS should also be present, for parental control.

The Watch Kids 5X should still offer water and dust resistance, as well as some basic smart features, such as step tracking, exercise assistance, and more. According to the released images, it will come in at least two color options: purple and black.

The product was announced this Friday (2nd) for the Chinese market, with no forecast for sales in other countries. Pricing and availability details remain unknown and we will update this post when they are released.
