This Saturday, December 3, we celebrate another International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we reaffirm ‘nothing about us, without us’, we draw attention to the fight against invisibility, exclusion, discrimination and skill.
It was like this every day.
Our battle is constant for our requests to be seen, heard, considered, included in discussions in all sectors.
Even if barriers block our path, it is always necessary to remove the blocks, remove the prejudices and reaffirm our position, we are part of it.
Gone are the days of accepting without reaction actions that reduce us, comments that sum us up, and observations that disable us. Empty praise, superficial admiration and false applause do not interest us.
It is essential to have respect, accessibility, equity, opportunity, protagonism, autonomy, dignity and possibility. There is much more to this list and you can add more urgencies.
It is essential to evolve. There is no progress in segregation and the setbacks need to be stopped.
Go on.
