Paulo Guedes cites lack of recognition for work and threatens to leave Brazil

The current Minister of Economy, Paul Guedes, was enthusiastic in conversations with allies on the elected government of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), which will take office from 1 January. Outraged by the lack of recognition of his efforts, Guedes threatens to leave the country.

According to a column by Bela Megale, from the newspaper The globe, Guedes has already spoken more than once about leaving Brazil. Jair Bolsonaro’s minister speaks of “leaving him here” and whoever stays will face problems.

The interlocutors also claim that the irritation of the minister in the government of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) is due to the lack of recognition while working with the transition team. According to the editorialist, the minister claims that he has “repaired” the mistakes of the PT and that the elected government must “work”.

But, again according to the publication, the interlocutors consider that the threats are in words. They quote a statement by Guedes about wanting to “silence” and “heal wounds” after his mandate ends, right here in Brazil.
