The Witcher 3: Complete Edition will have improved textures in both graphics modes

The Witcher 3: Complete Edition will have two graphics modes to choose from: Performance and Ray-Tracing.

  • In Performance mode, Ray-Tracing is disabled but the game runs at a much smoother 60 animation frames per second. In both modes, The Witcher 3: Complete Edition features resolution and texture improvements over the original game.

new animations

Geralt got new animations. Now, for example, the witch can be seen tearing herbs while harvesting plants. Other characters have also improved their animations, including Roach, faithful companion of the monster hunter. For example, with the update, Roach is able to walk backwards and can kick enemies. He raises his head when he wades through the water, among other moves that increase the player’s immersion in the action.

Will The Witcher 3 have more updates?

This update to the Complete Edition is the last major update the game will receive, but rest assured, The Witcher 3 will still receive new patches in the future, but no brand new content. After The Witcher 3: Complete Edition, the CD Projekt franchise team will focus on the new Witcher trilogy.

What improvements will The Witcher 3 receive?

In addition to the new graphics options, The Witcher 3: Complete Edition includes the following improvements, among others:

  • Faster throwing of signs;
  • Adjustable interface visibility;
  • New three-dimensional map;
  • Improved character models;
  • New special effects for the environment;
  • Automatic collection of herbs;
  • Three walking speeds depending on lever pressure;

On PlayStation 5, the game will support the unique features of the DualSense controller, which conveys the sensations of Roach’s gallop, the impact of weapons in combat and other interactions of Geralt with the environment.

What is the Netflix series DLC?

Geralt's new armor is part of a DLC based on Netflix's The Witcher series

The additional quest based on Netflix’s The Witcher will see the player search the devil’s pit in the region of Velen for equipment. It is an area just beyond the starting region of White Orchard and is inhabited today by only a few humanoid enemies and a large locked door.

Netflix’s The Witcher DLC opens the doors and reveals a mine, with a haunted atmosphere and a big boss at the end. The quest, intended for level 15 characters, will take about half an hour to complete.

Rewards include the Forgotten Wolven armor, similar to the costume worn by Henry Cavil in Season 1 of the series, and it can be upgraded to a “Masterpiece” version, which has the look of Cavil’s costume from Season 2.

There’s also a new look for the Dandelion bard and Nilfgaardian armor, based on the costumes from the Netflix series. These cosmetic effects can be activated in the game menu. As far as is known, the song “Toss a Coin for the Witcher” is not included in the soundtrack.

What is the release date?
