Prime Video has announced new cast members for the second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power🇧🇷 According to Amazon streaming, the series has been watched by over 100 million people worldwide, making it the most watched Original Prime Video series in all regions.
In all, eight new actors have been announced for the cast of The rings of power, with all of them taking on recurring roles in the next phase of JRR Tolkien’s universe-based story. Unlike the first season, which was produced in New Zealand, the new episodes are filmed in the UK.
The new cast members come in varying levels of experience, with some having résumés that include appearances in major productions such as game of Thrones🇧🇷 Wonder Woman 1984🇧🇷 sandman🇧🇷 The crown And bridgerton🇧🇷

The rings of power it’s yet another attempt by Prime Video to have a major franchise to call its own. Bringing the legends of the Second Age of Middle-earth to the screen for the first time, the story of the series takes place thousands of years before any The Hobbit And Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien, books adapted for film by Peter Jackson.
Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows a cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they face the dreaded resurgence of evil in Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the Elven capital of Lindon, to the beautiful island kingdom of Númenor, to the farthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that will live long after them.
According to Prime Video, the first season of The rings of power was an unprecedented success, watched by over 100 million people worldwide, with over 24 billion minutes (or 400 million hours) streamed. The highly anticipated series drew more than 25 million viewers worldwide on its first day, marking the biggest debut in Prime Video history, and also debuted as the No. 1 on the overall Nielsen streaming chart in its first weekend.
The series also broke all previous Prime Video records for most viewership and generated more Prime sign-ups worldwide during its release window than any previous content. Furthermore, The rings of power is considered the number one original series in all regions: North America, Europe, Asia, Latin America and the rest of the world.
The second season of the series is executive produced by showrunners and executive producers JD Payne and Patrick McKay. They are joined by executive producers Lindsey Weber, Callum Greene, Justin Doble, Jason Cahill and Gennifer Hutchison, along with co-executive producers Charlotte Brandstrom, producers Kate Hazell and Helen Shang and co-producers Andrew Lee, Matthew Penry-Davey and Clare Buxton.
All eight episodes of the first season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power are available exclusively on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories.
