The game marked the debut of quarterback Baker Mayfield, who was signed by the California team this week.
Despite the result, the Los Angeles Rams are still in a tight spot, having picked up just their fourth win in 13 games this season. The Las Vegas Raiders, on the other hand, also suffered their eighth loss in 13 games.
The Raiders opened the scoring with a rushing touchdown to running back Josh Jacobs to open the possession. Soon after, the visiting team extended the lead to 10-0 on a 55-yard field goal by kicker Daniel Carlson.

In the second period, the Raiders converted another field goal and extended their lead again. The Rams had a chance to tie it up, but running back Cam Akers fumbled in the red zone, and the ball was recovered by the Raiders with just over four minutes left in the first half.
Going into the second half, there were no goals in the third quarter as the Rams were hampered by offensive fouls. Also, kicker Matt Gay failed to convert a 61-yard long kick.
In the deciding quarter, the Las Vegas Raiders extended their lead with a 36-yard field goal to leave the score at 16 to 3. But with just over three minutes left on the clock, a promising drive by the Rams ended in a Cam Akers rushing touchdown, narrowing the deficit to one possession.
With two minutes left in the game, the Rams managed to force a punt from the Raiders. On the deciding drive, wide receiver Ben Skowronek made a 32-yard reception and fouls by the visitors gave it up to the Los Angeles Rams. With 9 seconds on the clock, Mayfield finally found Jefferson for that 23-yard touchdown pass, making the game 17:16. Also, Safety Taylor Rapp intercepted with 2 seconds left to seal the game.
The Los Angeles Rams’ next game will be against the Green Bay Packers, away from home, on December 19. Las Vegas Raiders to try rehab against New England Patriots day before (12/18), at Allegiant Stadium
