The actress promises that Scream 6 will be “100 times bloodier” than its predecessors

Actress Melissa Barrera, part of the cast of Scream 6, promised that blood will flow in the new chapter of the popular horror franchise. In a recent interview, the actress said that the future film will be much bloodier than any of its predecessors.

“There was a saying on set because directors Matt [Bettinelli-Olpin] and Tyler [Gillet] they were asking for more and more blood and more sweat,” Barrera said in an interview with collider🇧🇷 “They always wanted more. ‘More blood spatter’ was the saying, because they always want more.

«With the last one Panic, they were tiptoeing around and trying to be very respectful of what the franchise had been, up to that point, and keeping their damn dreams at bay,” Barrera added. “But with that, they said, ‘There we are trying.’ It’s potentially a hundred times bloodier.”

Barrera debuted in Panic in the fifth film in the franchise, released in January of this year, grossing over $140 million at the worldwide box office. Sam, his character, will be back Scream 6along with new additions that include Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding and Jenna Ortega, stars of the Netflix hit, Wandinha.

The new film will follow the four as they leave the fictional town of Woodsboro and try to make a new life in New York. This will be the first time a film in the series has left the iconic town.

“Ghostface becomes a lot more intimidating,” Ortega said earlier this year of the franchise villain. Panic🇧🇷 “I just read part of the script and it’s getting more and more gory. I think this is probably the most aggressive and violent version of Ghostface we’ve ever seen, and I think it’s going to be really fun to shoot.”

“It’s 20 times more mortifying,” Barrera said Scream 6🇧🇷 “It’s horrible. Because you also see how, in a city like New York, everyone does their own thing and someone screams for help and no one will come to their rescue”.

Barrera continued, “Nobody comes to help them, you know, everybody’s like, ‘I’m not going to get into this.’ So it’s mortifying, because you’re being chased by Ghostface, but you’re also seeing humanity and how they react in a situation like that. Anyway, I think I’ve already said too much.”

Scream 6a new franchise story from Paramount Pictures, hits theaters March 20, 2023.
