The first of 20 inclusive gardens planned for the city by 2023 was inaugurated this month in Uberaba (MG). The space created within the Arthur de Mello Teixeira Municipal School has auditory, gustatory, olfactory, tactile and visual resources. The action is coordinated by the Mosaic Institute, in collaboration with the Municipal Education Department.

The site has flowerbeds of different heights, circulation space for maneuvering wheelchairs, handrails and ramp, tactile floor, suitable typographic signage, large font, access to the automatic translation platform Libras (Brazilian Sign Language), contents in braille and audio description.

The initiative is part of an educational and nutritional program to promote healthy and sustainable eating. The project started in 2019 and has already installed 16 vegetable gardens in public schools in Sergipe and Goiás.
