The second season finale of ‘The White Lotus’ had the series’ highest ratings ever in the United States, drawing 4.1 million viewers Sunday (11/12) across all platforms, including late night reruns and streaming on HBO Max. That’s a 46% jump from the previous week’s tune (2.8 million), which had been the series’ record at that point.
The final episode, which revealed who the corpse was from the season’s opening scene, also drew more than twice as many viewers as the season one finale (1.9 million viewers as of August 15, 2021).
Since its sophomore premiere on October 30, “The White Lotus” has averaged 10.1 million viewers per episode over the course of a week, a 50 percent improvement over its inaugural season.
Season 1 was the big Emmy winner in September, taking home 10 awards, including Outstanding Limited Series or Anthology and writing and directing awards for creator Mike White.
Interest in new episodes has also led to demand for the first installments, leading to an overall increase in viewing of the series on HBO platforms.
HBO has already renewed the show for a third season.
