Palmeiras fears “the Endrick effect” in the recruitment market for 2023

Palmeiras still have no recruitment moves for the 2023 season. Of the big four at São Paulo, they are the only club that has not yet moved to bring in reinforcements, leaving their fans impatient. However, the administrators weigh a series of factors that impose prudence on the market, in particular the “Endrick effect”, which can make market research even more difficult.

Even if the alviverde board doesn’t officially confirm, they are there advanced negotiations for the transfer of the jewel to Spanish football, more precisely to Real Madrid, which promises to pay the fine of 60 million euros (R$339 million) plus intermediary and transaction fees, which would close at 72 million euros (R$407 million). The amounts would not be paid in cash by the meringues.

This way, Verdão would have a huge amount to put into its cashiers over the next few years. While most supporters know this sum will not go towards reinforcements, it is inevitable to predict who could sign the club with that financial clout in their hands.

Yes… It turns out that the transfer market almost thinks with the mind of that fan, that is, Palmeiras would forcefully enter the window to look for players. Knowing this, prices automatically go up when the person wears white and green. It’s what they call “inflating the market.” The player who costs X now costs 3X with a salary that doubles or triples.

The idea is simple “that club has the money, I will take advantage of this moment”, a very common practice that is part of this universe. But, learning of this possibility, Verdão, which has already been an extremely contained club in recent windows, becomes even more reclusive, as they know that any expression of interest will mean an absurd increase in figures.

While Palmeiras is looking for specific players to strengthen the squad and replace the loss of Gustavo Scarpa, there is the knowledge that it will not be possible to go wrong, especially with the inflated transfer market. Investments must be made with certainty, leaving no room for doubt. Therefore, in the opinion of the Alviverde top management, prudence remains the club’s main ally.

Verdão will be the last of the São Paulo big names to reappear for the pre-season. The players will train remotely in these last two weeks of December and will only go to the Football Academy on 2 January, when they should go straight to the pitch.
