Although he played the last two seasons for Haas, Schumacher was under contract to Ferrari. Recently, Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff opened the door to the German, who accepted the offer.

Next season, Mercedes will again have Britons Lewis Hamilton and George Russell as their drivers. The reserve role has been filled by Nyck de Vries and Stoffel Vandoorne, but the Dutchman will replace Frenchman Pierre Gasly at AlphaTauri.

2020 Formula 2 champion Schumacher made his F1 debut the following year when he joined Haas. He remained with the North American team until the end of last season, as he will be replaced by Nico Hulkenberg on the 2023 grid.

In 43 races held, the 23-year-old German scored 12 points, which came in the races in Austria (6th place) and Great Britain (8th place). 🇧🇷
