Oppenheimer: Christopher Nolan’s New Movie Wins Trailer; look

The first trailer of Oppenheimer, new film by Christopher Nolan, was released this Monday (19). The explosive teaser draws heavily on J. Robert Oppenheimer’s conflict, played by Cillian Murphy, over his role in creating the world’s first atomic bomb.

“We imagine a future and what we see is scary,” says Murphy’s voice as Oppenheimer. “They won’t be afraid until they understand. And they will understand only after using it. It goes way beyond theory. I don’t know if such a weapon can be trusted, but we have no choice.

The trailer ends with a question from the character himself: “Will they ever tell the truth about what’s going on here?”

The trailer gives us a taste of the epic scope of Nolan’s vision for the film, with footage from the early stages of creating the bomb and testing its explosives. The director told the Total film which recreated the first detonation of a nuclear weapon known as the Trinity test, without CGI.

“It’s a story of immense scope and scope,” Nolan explained. “It’s one of the most challenging projects I’ve ever undertaken in terms of scale and in terms of researching the breadth of Oppenheimer’s history. There have been big logistical challenges, big practical challenges.”

The trailer focuses primarily on Murphy’s Oppenheimer, which means most of the all-star cast aren’t present. Jack Quaid and Josh Peck appear, but Kenneth Branagh, Emily Blunt, Rami Malek, Florence Pugh, Matt Damon and Robert Downey Jr. are all absent.

On the surname, Nolan spoke about his performance in the film. “We all know Robert Downey Jr. is one of the great movie stars,” Nolan told Total Film. “It’s so easy to forget that he’s also one of the greatest actors of all time.”

Oppenheimer will be released in theaters on July 23, 2023, along with Barbieby Greta Gerwig, which also recently won a trailer.
