In an official statement, the block of clubs said that “the approved proposal is valid for LFF clubs independently and also for a possible single league of 40 clubs, in case of unification”. Also according to the pronouncement, the expectation is that the negotiation of the investments will be completed within 90 days. The investor’s name, however, has been kept confidential.

The LFF presented the proposal to create a unified Brazilian soccer league. Using the Premier League as a guide, the group advocates a more balanced distribution of revenues as a starting point for creating a national league.
“I believe that this model consolidates the work we have been talking about for months, as well as being the most egalitarian. We are talking about an unconstrained proposal, but which already guarantees revenues for the companies involved, in an egalitarian way and with investment prospects Today we have taken an important step towards the creation of the League, which has been the signing of 26 associations, but we will continue with the objective that all 40 also sign. It is a movement that has everything to resemble what is already happening in other major leagues in the world, such as the Premier League and La Liga,” says Fortaleza president Marcelo Paz.
“We speak of a historic day for the 26 clubs that have participated in this movement, as we have reached consensus on a proposal that will bring balanced conditions for all, with specific resources and deadlines. The proposals presented were concrete and had a north, with the possibility of increasing resources for the Serie A and B teams, and also some income for the Serie C teams. Alessandro Barcellos, president of Internacional.
In addition to the investment proposal, the meeting held at the Fluminense headquarters also formalized ABC’s entry into the group. In all, there are 26 teams that make up the LFF: ABC, Athletico PR, Atlético MG, América-MG, Atlético-GO, Avaí, Brusque, Chapecoense, Coritiba, Ceará, Criciúma, CRB, CSA, Cuiabá, Figueirense, Fluminense, Fortaleza, Goiás, Internacional, Juventude, Londrina, Náutico, Operário, Sport, Vila Nova and Tombense.
