Away from the screens from the soap opera “Amor Sem Igual” (2019), on Record TV, the actress Day Mesquita will be in the series “How To Be a Carioca”, on Star+. After working in biblical productions, such as “The 10 Commandments” and “Jesus”, she will be a conservative and prejudiced woman.
Developed by Carlos Saldanha, creator of “Cidade Invisível” and director of the animations “A Era do Gelo”, “Rio” and “Ferdinando”, the series is based on the book of the same name by the American Priscilla Goslin. Released in 1992, “How To Be a Carioca” comically describes the habits and foibles of the cariocas – like that vigorous rocking of the hair, which tosses it back and forth, when the women leave the sea.
The production will show, in a comedic tone, the experiences of foreigners in Rio. All episodes bring together Brazilian and international actors. And the national cast also includes Seu Jorge, Malu Mader, Douglas Silva, Raquel Villar and Débora Nascimento.
The registrations have already been completed, but there is no date for the premiere yet.
