The sequel to the highest-grossing film in history got off to a slightly disappointing start, but this made for the year’s second-best opening. The film should continue to attract people to theaters and the expectation is that it enters the highest box office in history.

Not only American films experience the highest global box office ranking of the year. Chinese war film Water Gate Bridge earned a spot among the top 10 grossers of the year by amassing $626 million. Of this total amount, just over 100,000 were raised in the US, with the Chinese box office showing its strength.
The man in the moon
Another Chinese film appears in the year’s top 10 at the box office. Regard The man in the moon, a science fiction that presents a catastrophic scenario: an asteroid hit the Earth and ended all life. The exception is an astronaut on a mission to the moon, “the last man in the universe”. The film grossed $460 million, with not a cent coming from the US box office.
