James Cameron is one of the most revered filmmakers in cinematic history and responsible for such blockbusters as Terminator and Titanicas well as producing the franchise avatars🇧🇷 Not everyone is aware of this director’s relevance, however, as in the case of young actor Britain Dalton.
Performer of the character Lo’ak in Avatar: The Way of Water, Dalton revealed that he was unaware of James Cameron’s work previously. In an interview given to the portal Tangerinethe actor also commented that he hadn’t even seen the first film in the franchise before joining the cast.
“What I remember is that I had no idea what was going on, except that my agents told me it was something big. I’m not a big fan of the movie business, so I didn’t even know who Jim (Cameron) was,” Dalton said. “In general, I don’t like auditioning, but the casting people were very intuitive and understood my little complexities and things I like to do,” the actor added.
Dalton is still taking his first steps on his cinematic journey. Moreover Avatars 2the actor has received brief roles in films and has been featured in series such as Criminal mindswith small shares.
Although he was unaware of Cameron’s work prior to Avatar 2, Dalton commented that the director enjoyed his tests. “They called me again the following week to meet Jim. And then he was like, ‘Basically, the second I saw you, I knew I wanted you to be a part of the project in some way,’” he said.
Avatar: The Path of Water is now in theaters. So far, the sequel to the franchise has earned US$900 million (approximately R$4.6 billion) at the worldwide box office since its launch. In its second week in the United States, the film collected approximately US$56 million (approximately R$290 million).
