Wandinha is a Netflix sensation, with over 1 billion hours watched and counting. While the series hasn’t been renewed for a second season yet, the delay is common among Netflix original productions, and it’s pretty safe to say it will hit Wandinhasooner or later.
While this does not happen and the future of Wandinha, lived by Jenna Ortega, remains open, the creators of the series Al Gough and Miles Millar have discussed the future of this spin-off of The Addams familyincluding revelations that new mysteries will appear for the character to investigate.

The revelations were made by the duo in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter🇧🇷 There, they discussed the possibility of further working on Wandinha’s relationships with those around her, especially her mother, Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and her friend, Enid (Emma Myers).
“We want to kind of explore and kind of complicate all of these relationships going forward. The school was closed when they left, which gave us more possibilities for season two, and I think that’s something we’re really looking forward to exploring. For us, the show is also about this female friendship, with Wandinha and Enid really being at the heart of it.
He continued, “The fact that they really connect with the audience has been really gratifying. So we can’t wait to explore now that Wandinha has dipped her toe into the friendship pool, what will it be like? It’s like he gave a hug. That was his big arc for the season, right? So it’s like now, we do it.”
Another thing that Gough thinks is interesting to explore is the mother-daughter relationship between Wandinha and Morticia. “Now that Morticia knows about the power, she’s given her sort of an idea of how she’s going to play out. How will their relationship evolve?” she asked.
In addition to commenting on these arcs to explore, the creators of the series have commented on a fan theory that Wandinha and her friend Enid may be developing a romantic relationship. While talking about it, Millar hinted that nothing is out of the question, but at the same time they can’t lose control of the character’s personality.
“As Al said, this idea of brotherhood is key to the show,” Millar began. “We won’t discard anything, and of course sometimes characters reveal themselves, which is the fun thing we love about television, which is an organic journey. We have a roadmap, and we’d like to have routes along that map that take you in unexpected directions. So we’re open to anything,” she said.
Millar continued, “We want to explore that friendship in every way, but we’re not going to, that’s where you get misdirected sometimes by fans and stuff, so it’s just being really open to seeing how these characters develop and that friendship.” As Al said, that friendship is key to our kind of vision for the show.
All episodes of the first season of Wandinha are available on Netflix.
