Right at the start of the game, Brazilian defender Thiago Silva felt uncomfortable and moved with difficulty for a few minutes, but recovered and continued on the pitch. Aged eight, Chelsea got their first chance, with Havertz heading off after a cross from Cucurella.

Chelsea’s second goal came on 23. The ball fell to Havertz inside the box, the German just fixing it for Mount who batted from the edge of the box and sent the net swinging.

In the 43rd minute the Londoners even put the ball on goal for the third time. The goal however was disallowed by a miss from Havertz away. Four minutes later, Sterling had another chance, but Travers stopped it.

Bournemouth had a chance to narrow the score to 33. Christie received him in the box down the right, advanced and struck hard, forcing Kepa to work.

At 38, Gallagher has almost caught up with Chelsea. The midfielder received into the box after a counter attack, cleared the marker and kicked, but ended up hitting another opponent.
