Knight of the Moon: The best episode of the Marvel series leaves fans in tears

Warning, spoilers. It is advisable to watch the 5th episode of Moon Knight before you continue reading this article.

The final end of Moon Knight has never been so close, and the 5th episode of the Marvel Studios series deeply celebrates the inner journey of Mark Spector / Stephen Grant (Oscar Isaac). The latter chapter moves the duo from memory to memory as the ambiguity surrounding their dissociative identity disorder gradually disappears.

The corridor of the psychiatric hospital is a projection of the kingdom of Duat, and the hippopotamus is indeed the goddess of Tuareg, which leads them to later life, more precisely to Aarus, the cane field. To go to heaven, their hearts must be weighed. For this, Mark and Stephen will have to delve deeper into their memories to balance their hearts.

We then learn through memories that Stephen is an identity created by Mark from scratch to protect himself from the abuse of his mother, who is responsible for his little brother’s death when they were children. His mother, Wendy Spector (Fernanda Andrade) never escaped grief and fell into depression. Having become a rapist, he beat Mark for many years before he decided as a teenager to leave the family home.

While he was still in a relationship with his father, Elijah Spector (Ray Lucas), Mark never spoke to his mother again and did not have the strength to go to his funeral, to his Shiva, when he died. Stephen then reclaimed Mark’s body to help him through this ordeal. That’s why Stephen calls Wendy on the phone, thinking that Mom is alive and they meet.

After returning to the memories and finally understanding who he is, especially after turning him into a knight of the moon, Mark regains his self-confidence. But the lost souls attack them and Stephen sacrifices himself to save Mark. In this last episode, we have the last picture of Stephen with a picture of a man frozen and stuck in the sand of the Kingdom of Duat.

Thanks to Stephen’s sacrifice, Mark’s heart finds balance and he can go to a quiet reed field that looks like paradise. So it looks like Stephen really died after helping Mark cope with his childhood traumas. Mark must find a way to leave this refuge of peace in order to thwart the plans of Arthur Harrow (Ethan Hawke), rebuild Amit, and find Khonshu, who gives him his extraordinary abilities.

This latest episode of Moon Knight, as shocking as it is, has won over fans of the Marvel Studios series, who have not lacked in expressing their emotions on social media.

Clearly the best episode of the series # Knight of the Moon This episode gives 5 depth to Mark’s character thanks to this sadly beautiful “Origin Story” narrated by the master’s hand, with sublimated scenes and music that are eye-catching. pic.twitter.com/30tvPognM9
