Gen V: The Boys spin-off gets a launch window and a possible riddle

The series Gen Vspin-off of the successful Amazon Prime Video The boys, got a 2023 release window, a revelation that may have been frustrating for some fans. Or not.

The new series’ official Twitter page confirmed the date by posting an image with the numbers “2023”, while the caption read: “Our favorite set of numbers!”. However, this rather vague revelation may have upset some fans, who were hoping for a more concrete date for the arrival of the series.

Another post after the January 1, 2023 post teased fans by saying: “The release will be between now and December 31st!!!” as well as a reference to the Seven, the core of the universe’s superhero team The boys.

Some fans are speculating that the tweets above may actually be a riddle, revealing the series’ exact release date. According to this theory, the double reference to the Seven and the point where it reveals that the series will arrive between now and December 31st could indicate an expected release date of 7/7, or July 7, 2023.

The first trailer of Gen V, released during CCXP22 in São Paulo, showed that at least one group member from the main series is confirmed in the spin-off: A-Train, played by Jessie T. Usher. Additionally, two other supporting cast members of The boys come back Gen V in Colby Minifie, who plays Ashley Barrett, and PJ Byrne, who plays Adam Bourke.

The pair are briefly introduced in the trailer for Gen Vwhich also confirms Clancy Brown’s involvement in the production, although it is not clear which character the veteran Hollywood actor will play.

Gen V arrives on Amazon Prime Video in 2023, between now and December 31st.
