Individual micro-entrepreneurs will pay more in their monthly contribution. The readjustment of the social security contribution is now R$ 66.00 ― equivalent to 5% of the minimum wage.

The MEI Truck Driver, in turn, will cost R$ 158.40 (12% of the minimum wage).

In addition to these new values, the MEI carrying out activities subject to ICMS will pay an additional R $ 1.00 (if it has commercial and industrial activities). Another increase is for those who carry out activities subject to the ISQN (service provider): it’s another R$ 5.00.

On average, MEI will now pay between R$ 67.00 and R$ 72.00 per month, depending on their activity. The MEI Caminhoneiro will pay monthly between BRL 159.40 and BRL 164.40.

It is worth mentioning that the monthly MEI contribution is calculated on the basis of the minimum wage. The new value of the contribution is considered in relation to the new value of R$ 1,320, which will be made official with a provisional provision.

By keeping the monthly installment up to date, the MEI guarantees social security benefits such as old-age pension, sickness benefit, invalidity pension, prison assistance, death benefit and maternity benefit.
