The technology, which promises to fight currency exchange and bring more agility and safety to fans, will be tested next Tuesday in a training match against Monte Azul
Palmeiras opened, at 10:00 this Friday, the registration of facial biometrics for all its member-supporters in good standing and provided more details on the functioning of the system, which uses the characteristics of each person’s face to guarantee the access to stadiums. Brazil’s unprecedented technology, which promises to fight currency exchange and bring more agility and safety to matches, will be tested at the public training match against Blue Hillscheduled for 4:00 pm next Tuesday, at AllianzParque.
The club has released 4,300 free tickets, redeemed through the website www.associazionespalmeiras.com.br., to allow fans to follow the activity in the centre-east of the stadium, the only sector that will be open. At the entrance, the Palmeirenses will not have to present tickets, just do the facial recognition at the turnstile. According to Palmeiras, however, “it is important to keep the receipt for checking the seat or for any unforeseen event”, given that the system is being tested.
The occasion will serve to detect possible information and make adjustments in time for the start of the Paulista Championship next weekend. The plan of the Palmeiras board is to start using the technology, still in the testing phase, in the first matches of the state competition.

Facial recognition works as a way to combat scalpers, as it makes presenting physical tickets unnecessary. In 2022, Palmeiras identified and expelled several people who used the fan-partner system to buy tickets and resell them.
The system will also help to quickly identify fans involved in violence or other types of violations at Allianz Parque. The technology has already been used in all entrances to the clubhouse since December last year.
